Printing Processes

Screen Printing

How it works:

Screen printing is a popular method for customising promotional T-shirts, hoodies, and other garments. It involves creating a stencil (screen) for each color and applying ink layer by layer directly onto the fabric.

Good to know:

Ideal for bulk orders of custom T-shirts with bold, simple logos

Offers vibrant, long-lasting colors on cotton and polyester fabrics

Cost-effective solution for large promotional campaigns

Digital Printing

How it works:

Digital printing (also known as DTG – direct-to-garment) uses a specialised printer to apply ink directly to the fabric. This allows for detailed and colorful designs, including gradients and photo-quality prints.

Good to know:

Perfect for short runs of personalised T-shirts or hoodies

Best for white or light-colored garments

Works well for intricate, high-resolution graphics

Transfer Printing

How it works:

Your design is first printed on transfer paper, then heat-pressed onto the fabric. This technique allows for detailed designs and complex color combinations on various types of clothing.

Good to know:

Suitable for promotional jackets, sportswear, and caps

Excellent for small runs with full-color artwork

Transfers can eventually wear with frequent washing

Laser Engraving

How it works:

While not typically used directly on fabric, laser engraving is often used for accessories like personalised coffee travel mugs, tumblers, personalised pens, leather patches, personalised keyrings or similar promotional items

Good to know:

Ideal for premium corporate merchandise

Permanent, high-end branding with no color

Great for adding subtle, sophisticated logos

Embroidery

How it works:

Embroidery uses thread to stitch a logo or design directly onto garments like polos, jackets, hats, and sweatshirts. It creates a textured, professional look that lasts.

Good to know:

Ideal for corporate uniforms, embroidered polo shirts, and workwear

Durable and machine-washable

Best for simple logos, fine details may be hard to replicate

Pad Printing

How it works:

Pad printing (also known as tampography or tampon printing) is a technique that uses a silicone pad to transfer ink from an etched plate onto the surface of a product. This allows logos or graphics to be printed on uneven, curved, or textured surfaces with high precision.

Good to know:

Ideal for branded pens, custom keyrings, promotional lighters, and other small promotional items

Allows for detailed logo printing on compact or irregular surfaces

A cost-effective printing method for medium to large quantities

Perfect for applications where other techniques like screen printing or digital printing may not be suitable
